Who are The Mispers?? Taking their name from the police term for ‘missing persons’, The Mispers consists of Jack Balfour Scott (Lead Vocals), Joey Arnold Zapata (Rhythm Guitar/Vocals), Diego Belmonte (Lead Guitar), Hannah Van Den Brul (Violin/Vocals) and Jordan Grispino (Drums).
On a sunny afternoon in 2013, The Mispers blessed the HogSozzle stage with their presence and blew away the crowd. Since appearing at HogSozzle, The Mispers have enjoyed impressive summer seasons on the festival scene, with an appearance at the Secret Garden Party, and what seems to have become a regular slot at Kendal Calling in the Lake District. They now find themselves travelling the country and overseas, on an incredible sell-out tour as first support for Irish Alt-Rock giants Kodaline.
Good news travels fast, and the music world is no exception. It’s therefore no surprise that The Mispers are steadily attracting a lot of welcome and much deserved attention. The band was snapped up to support Nottingham born singer-songwriter Saint Raymond on his 2014 UK tour.
Nobody can argue that The Mispers radiate originality. HogSozzle 2013 was won over immediately by the unique sound of Balfour Scott’s vocals alongside the genius addition of Van Den Brul on violin. With such an exclusive sound, and an unquenchable passion to succeed, it seems hard to imagine this band doing anything but that.
The Mispers set high expectations for themselves with the release of their first recording, ‘You Hold’, recorded at Lightship95, an unusual recording studio on a ship in East London. To portray such a professional look and recording sound at such an early stage in their journey has clearly demonstrated that this quintet was born to perform.
The past two years have proved very busy for The Mispers, they released their first single, ‘Brother’, in March 2013 and impressively, they have sold out all of their London shows to date. Hosting their own sweaty, fun-fuelled basement parties in London titled ‘November Search Party’, has enabled the band to build up an avid fan-base, who are quickly made to feel part of The Mispers family.
These guys have proved to be five missing people that HogSozzle is delighted to have found.
Do yourselves a favour – go and find The Mispers.
